Pride of Pryor Band Off to 5A State Competition

The Pride or Pryor Marching Band will compete at the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association 5A State Championships on Saturday, October 21st.  In support of the PHS Band a “send-off” is scheduled for Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. at the Pryor High School Circle Drive. Everyone is encouraged to attend.  The band will be performing in Mustang, Oklahoma, at 2:15 pm. 

Earlier, on October 7, the Pride performed the show titled “Golden” at the Bixby Tournament of Bands.  Here the band placed 1st in class 5A, and also earned 1st in 5A percussion. This was also the highest General Effect score of the 5A bands.  In the finals competition, the Pride earned 7th place among a very talented pool of outstanding bands.  

The week before, on September 30th, the band performed "Golden" at Oologah's Stallion Battalion Marching Invitational.  The band placed 2nd in class 5A Gold and also earned 3rd place color guard in class 5A and 3rd place percussion in class 5A.  In preliminary competition, the Pride scored as one of the top 12 bands out of the 23 bands competing.  The top 12 bands advanced to finals where the band placed 7th overall.
