PHS LifeSmarts Team Wins State Title

The PHS LifeSmarts has secured the title of 2023 Oklahoma State LifeSmarts Champions and has been invited to represent Oklahoma at the National Competition in Cincinnati, OH, April 27-30, 2023.

Team captain sophomore Ryleigh Hill and fellow members sophomore Carson Pendley, junior Jasmine Raikos, and junior Tyler Earl under the direction of coaches Sharon Rash and Bea Roberson research the information and skills needed to succeed in today’s marketplace.

Team members participate in practice sessions and online competitions which test the consumer knowledge of the team. The 29 year-old LifeSmarts program "provides real world education for students who learn about core consumer topics and develop critical thinking skills" with a "focus on five key topic areas: consumer rights and consumer rights and responsibilities, the environment, health and safety, personal finance, and technology." “It has been a joy and honor to coach this team with Mrs. Roberson.  They have worked hard and it has paid off.  We are a rookie team and are showing seasoned competitors results.  Now it is time to continue our road to Nationals with more preparation and the first two rounds of Nationals competition at home,” LifeSmarts’ Coach Sharon Rash.
