PHS Band has an Award Winning Month

On April 11th, both High School concert bands competed at the OSSAA East 5A State Contest.  The Concert Band earned an excellent rating (II) on stage and an excellent rating (II) in Sight Reading.  The Symphonic Band earned straight superior ratings (I) on stage from all 3 judges, and an excellent rating (II) in Sight Reading.  

Next came a very quick turn around with about half of the students joining together in a new ensemble that competed at the WorldStrides Heritage Festival in San Antonio, TX this last weekend.  There were bands, orchestras and choirs attending this festival from Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisanna, and New Mexico.  This  PHS concert band earned a Gold Rating, the highest possible, as well as earned the award for top score amongst all bands at the competition.  

They also received the prestigious Adjudicators Award given by the 3 judges who judged the instrumental entries.
