New year and it's another record year for the Pryor High School Volleyball squad. Coming off their best season in program history last year(14 wins), this year's team has the most wins in program history, currently 15, with 8 matches to go!
These types of seasons don't just happen, they are earned and Head Coach Jason Stimson says they embody that, "This team has taken on the leadership role of coming in everyday ready to get better. They quickly move past their mistakes and lift each other up on and off the court. Our upperclassmen have really matured and learned to control the chaos while our younger players have taken the initiative to get better with lessons & club ball."
In only its fourth year, this volleyball program continues to turn heads with their play.
"The hustle and grit we have to never quit and only being four years into our program is allowing us to compete with teams that have had programs for years," said Assistant Coach Kiersten Brown.
Volleyball will be back in action tomorrow night, September 18th, against Stilwell with the JV starting at 6 PM and Varsity to follow. Some key dates to remember are October 2nd vs Verdigris, which will be Pink Out night and October 9th against Tulsa Hale will be Senior Night.
"Volleyball is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation," said Stimson. "The excitement, constant momentum swings and never quit mentality of these girls is a joy to watch. The girls play hard, play for each other and represent our program and Pryor Schools with pride and passion everyday."
Get out and support these girls as they soar to new heights!
