Lincoln Elementary welcomed its newest first graders in true Lincoln fashion—with a spin of the house sorting wheel!
Each Tiger moving up to first grade stepped forward to spin the wheel and discover which of Lincoln Elementary’s eight houses they would join.
Students who attended the Lincoln Early Childhood Center last year were already familiar with the house system. All LECC students belong to the Vocalis Turquoise House, where Lincoln’s youngest Tigers focus on finding their voices.
In addition to Vocalis, Lincoln houses include:
Activus | Be Proactive | Red House
Porta | Begin with the End in Mind | Yellow House
Primus | Put First Things First | Blue House
Vincere | Think Win-Win | Green House
Intellectus | Seek First to Understand | Orange House
Civitas | Synergize | Black House
Validus | Sharpen the Saw | Purple House
Spinning the wheel is an exciting moment for students and staff as new members are welcomed into their houses and discover a special place to belong. The tradition creates a strong foundation for the connections that unite every Lincoln student and staff member through the school’s guiding philosophy: Eight Houses, One Family.
