Ella Raper, a student at Pryor Middle School, has been named Little Cherokee Ambassador for the 10–12 age category.

Ella earned the title during the Little Cherokee Ambassador Competition held August 21 in Tahlequah. During the ceremony, she was crowned by Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr.

The program inspires Cherokee youth to pursue their dreams, lead by example, build self-sufficiency, and deepen their knowledge of Cherokee history, culture, heritage, and language.

Over the coming year, Ella will represent the Little Cherokees at various activities, proudly supporting and sharing her Cherokee culture.

“I am incredibly proud of her and the poise she showed on stage,” said Ella’s mother, Star Raper.
