State Officers of OSSBA

Pryor Public Schools Board of Education President Fred Sordahl has been named first vice president among the Oklahoma State School Boards Association’s 2026–2027 officers.

Sordahl was elected to the leadership position during the OSSBA Education Leadership Conference, held August 13–15 in Oklahoma City.

“OSSBA is fortunate to have dedicated school board members who are willing to serve not only their local communities but also their fellow board members and public school students across Oklahoma,” OSSBA Executive Director Dr. Shawn Hime said in an OSSBA announcement. “Our new officers bring valuable experience, thoughtful leadership and a strong commitment to public education. We look forward to working alongside them in the year ahead.”

Sordahl began serving the Pryor community as a member of the Pryor Public Schools Board of Education during the 2008–2009 school year. He was named president of the Board in 2010 and has continued in that leadership role ever since.

After nearly two decades of service as a school board member, Sordahl will now share his experience, insight, and dedication with the broader educational community. As OSSBA first vice president, he will serve not only Pryor Public Schools but also fellow board members and public school students throughout Oklahoma.
