Moore presents

Pryor Public Schools recently welcomed the Mayes County LEAD Professional Leadership team to the Education Service Center for a leadership development session on Wednesday, February 12.

Mayes County LEAD is a community leadership-building program designed to identify, motivate, and educate emerging leaders across the county. The program’s mission is to promote and enhance community leadership through an in-depth introduction to social, economic, business, and policy issues in Mayes County.

The visit centered on leadership development and community engagement, with a spotlight on how strong community partnerships help support students and families across Pryor Public Schools.

During the session, Laura Holloway, Tiger PRIDE Afterschool Program Director, and Katy Moore, Tiger PRIDE Assistant Director and a Mayes County LEAD alumna, shared how community involvement strengthens the Tiger PRIDE Afterschool Program. They discussed how the program supports students’ social-emotional development, helps broaden career awareness and future pathways, and provides families with a safe, reliable place for students to go after school.

Holloway and Moore also emphasized that Tiger PRIDE creates opportunities for Pryor students to experience activities and enrichment they may not otherwise have access to—helping students explore interests, build confidence, and connect with caring adults.

They concluded by thanking the businesses, organizations, and community members who have supported Tiger PRIDE throughout the years, noting that those partnerships continue to play an important role in the program’s success.
