Karson and Kyson with teammates

Karson Hughes and Kyson Spencer are officially heading on to the collegiate level to play football. Coming off one of the best seasons in school history, Hughes will be heading to Oklahoma Baptist University as a running back and Spencer to NEO as a kicker.

Karson Hughes will be headed to Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

"This was Karson's first year to be a full time starter for us," said Head Coach Kenny Davis. "He played meaningful roles prior to this season, but wasn't the guy. When I talked to him after his junior season, he had a goal to be the man at running back and through his hard work in the offseason he became just that."

Hughes led the backfield attack for the Tigers this season with 1,086 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns and added 318 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.

"We will miss the toughness and leadership Karson brought to the team," added Davis.

Kyson Spencer will be headed to kick at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma.

"Kyson has worked extremely hard to get to this point. As a freshman, he weighed 98 pounds, didn't get to play much and wasn't even sure if he wanted to continue playing," said Davis. "Now as a senior, he weighs 180 pounds, two year starter, and one of the best kickers in the state."

Kyson finished the season with 55 touchbacks and made 53 of 54 point after attempts while going 3-3 on field goals for Pryor and was recently named as an All-State Kicker.

This senior class is one of the best to come through Pryor and Coach Kenny Davis knows they helped set a standard and a winning culture for Pryor Tiger football.

"These guys were a huge part of the first 11 win team in school history. We will miss having them in our locker room, but are excited to see all they accomplish in their careers."
