The first official event held in the new Pryor Middle School Library was definitely one worth celebrating.
Administration, faculty members, and family gathered for a special announcement as English Language teacher Tammy Jenkins was named Pryor Middle School’s 2026 Teacher of the Year. Colleagues shared that Mrs. Jenkins is a positive influence on campus, inspiring both students and fellow teachers each day.
As the Pryor Middle School campus honoree, Mrs. Jenkins will now move forward to represent the school in the Pryor Public Schools District Teacher of the Year selection process.
In nomination remarks, staff members highlighted her commitment to students in and out of the classroom. Nominations noted that Jenkins “demonstrates outstanding leadership” through her dedication to the annual trip to Washington, D.C., her involvement in multiple community service opportunities, and her work as a teacher leader who supports and encourages students as they work toward their character goals.
One nomination captured her impact best: with her unparalleled work ethic, “Tammy is the quintessential educator who embodies the dedication and heart required for Teacher of the Year.”
