red hen and girl with bread

“Today we got to share some Little Red Hen bread together,” said Mrs. Shrum.

Mrs. Shrum’s kindergarten students recently brought a beloved story to life as they read the traditional folk tale The Little Red Hen. Inspired by the story’s message of responsibility, the students joined in with Mrs. Shrum to bake bread — just like in the Little Red Hen tale.

Next, the whole class enjoyed the freshly baked bread. Their efforts were made even more special thanks to a generous donation from Pryor’s local bakery and farm stand, Maple Street Market, which provided the bread for the activity.

This hands-on lesson gave Jefferson Tigers a taste of cooperation, responsibility, and the satisfaction of reaping the rewards of their hard work.
