Tiger Athletics Highlights

It's been a remarkable year for Pryor Athletics and it's not quite over yet. Spring sports are wrapping up this week with several state events going on. Here is a look at who qualified and how our student-athletes did this spring.

On the Golf Course, Freshman, Aniston Stout finished 12th in the state. Wesley Gates and Trooper Brown competed at Muskogee Country Club with Gates finishing inside the top 50.

On the diamond, Slow Pitch made it to the state tournament for the first time ever but came up short in their first round matchup against Broken Bow.

The Pryor Baseball team will be competing in the first round of the state tournament on Thursday in Sapulpa at 4 PM vs. Carl Albert.

The Girls soccer team made it to the state playoffs but fell to Bishop Kelley in the first round. The girls soccer team was named 5a Academic State Champions and will be honored at the State Championship game this weekend.

On the Tennis Court, the girls had a good showing at state with Abby Martin finishing in the top 16 in 1 singles, Lily Holman was top 12 in 2 singles. In doubles, Reese Marlett and Izzy Martin finished in the top 12 in 1 doubles and Peyten Decker and Norah Joice finished top 12 in 2 doubles.

The Boys Tennis team took 4th at Regionals and qualified Tai Nguyen in 1 singles and Bo Martin and Cole Harrison in 1 doubles for state. They will be competing this weekend in Oklahoma City.

On the track, the girls continued to impress as several qualified for the State Track meet at Western Heights this weekend. Journey Nunley, Freshman, qualified for the 100m, 200m and will be part of the 4x200m relay team with Kynlee Coats, Tayla Vance and Ryily McMurtrey. Braycee Trundle qualified for two events including the 800m. In the 2 mile, Allison Martin and Caitlin White both qualified. Martin also qualified in the 1600m. Regional Champion, Lily Casey qualified for the discus throw with Brooklyn Keenan also qualifying.

The boys will be sending Freshman, Gage Lefrere to state in the 100m. He will also be a part of the 4x100m relay team at state with Zakieus Hopkins, Jackson Parks and Zach Parker.
