time for Pre enrollment planning

As we prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, Pryor Middle School and Pryor High School are beginning the pre-enrollment process. This is an essential step to ensure students select coursework that aligns with their future goals and allows our schools to develop master schedules and teacher assignments. Below is important information for parents and students regarding scheduling and enrollment deadlines.

Middle School Schedule Changes

Pryor Middle School will transition from a trimester schedule to a semester-based schedule next year. Students will have a six-hour school day, including their four core classes: English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Additionally, each student will have two hours dedicated to elective courses. Parents, please help your student complete their elective selection form and return it by February 21st.

Current 5th-grade students have also been sent elective selection forms in preparation for entering middle school next year. This is an exciting time for incoming middle schoolers, and selecting electives is an important step in shaping their academic experience.

8th Grade Pre-Enrollment for High School

For current 8th-grade students enrolling as freshmen at Pryor High School next year, the following events will help guide their course selection:

  • Feb 11 – Students will receive a PHS course guide and enrollment form during their Tiger Time class to explore available courses and elective options.

  • Feb 12 – PHS counselors and administrators will visit 8th-grade Tiger Time classes to explain the enrollment process.

  • Feb 18 – Parent Enrollment Presentation from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Avra PAC. This session will cover graduation requirements, how to complete the enrollment form, and aligning coursework with future goals. Teachers of elective classes and school organizations will also be available to provide information.

  • Feb 24 – Students will submit their completed enrollment forms to their Tiger Time teacher.

  • Aug 11 – Final schedules will be available during Back-to-School Night.

We encourage parents to discuss with their children how their chosen courses align with their academic and career goals.

Current High School Student Enrollment

For students currently enrolled at Pryor High School, the course selection process is also beginning:

  • Feb 3-12 – Counselors will visit English classes to distribute enrollment forms and course guides, explain new state graduation requirements, and provide course selection guidance.

  • Feb 18 – Parent Enrollment Presentation from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Avra PAC (same session as for 8th-grade parents).

  • Feb 24 – Students will turn in their enrollment forms to their Tiger Time teacher.

  • Aug 11 – Final schedules will be available at Back-to-School Night.

During this time, parents are encouraged to discuss their child’s Individual Career Academic Plan (ICAP), which students have been developing in Tiger Time. This four-year plan helps them explore interests, goals, and career pathways.

Finalizing Course Selections

Next year’s class schedule will be constructed to fit the needs indicated by your students during this pre-enrollment period. Schedule changes will only be allowed in the fall if a student has failed a course, earned outside credit, or been placed incorrectly in a class. It is important that students thoughtfully select their courses during this pre-enrollment period.

If you have any questions about the enrollment process, please contact your student’s assigned PHS counselor. We look forward to a successful year ahead and appreciate your involvement in ensuring students are on the right path to achieve their goals.
