If you've noticed towering structures reaching toward the sky on the north end of town, chances are you've spotted the framework for the visitor stands and pressbox being installed at Tiger Stadium. With the visitors’ locker room, concessions, and restrooms already in place, the vision of cheering on the Tigers in the new stadium is becoming more tangible. To bring that vision to life, Head Football Coach Kenny Davis, Athletic Director Gerald Osborne, and Pryor High School Principal Dr. Elseman marked the future 50-yard line earlier this month in a commemorative photo.
Other district bond projects are also making steady progress. Across the street from the stadium, construction continues at the high school to connect the Burdick Center and the new practice gym to the main high school building. This addition will allow students to move between these facilities without having to go outside, enhancing both convenience and security. The expansion will include a designated practice room for the cheer and pom squads. Pryor wrestlers will also have a dedicated space to train with the addition of a new four-mat wrestling room.
The final project from the 2022 Bond Election is now moving forward at Pryor Middle School. Superintendent Dr. Muller and Bond and Special Projects Director Jim Trout met with construction company representatives in January for a bid meeting. Plans for the middle school renovations include new classrooms and a modernized library media center, providing students with enhanced learning spaces.
With each phase of these projects, Pryor Public Schools continues to invest in the future, creating safer and more advanced facilities for students and the community. These improvements are made possible thanks to the ongoing support of the Pryor community, whose commitment to education ensures a bright future for local students.
