We have exciting news about an outstanding flute player in the Pride of Pryor Band! Last Saturday, December 7, 19 of our talented band students traveled to Westmoore High School to compete in the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OkMEA) All-State Band Auditions. This rigorous competiton brought together over 1,300 band students from across the state, all vying for a spot in one of three elite instrumental ensembles: the Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, or the Orchestra.
After a demanding audition process, sophomore flute player Andi Rehebein reached her goal. She was named 4th chair flute in the All-OkMEA Orchestra, an incredible honor considering Rehebein was one of only 19 flute players chosen out of 135 competitors statewide. The selection process is exceptionally competitive, with only 5 flutes making the Wind Ensemble, 10 joining the Symphonic Band, and 4 earning a spot in the Orchestra.
This achievement is even more remarkable as Andi first had to qualify in the final-round auditions on November 9 to compete at this level. Being named an All-State musician is a huge honor and speaks to Rehebein's commitment to her musical skill.
Congratulations to Andi Rehebein and the Pride of Pryor Band for this outstanding achievement.
