Earlier this month, Pryor Middle School 8th-grade students boarded buses to Northeast Tech (NT) Pryor campus for a firsthand look at the Career and Technology Education pathways available for high school students. This partnership between NT and Pryor Public Schools aims to introduce students to potential career paths and help them make informed decisions about their future.
While middle school students cannot apply to NT until they are 16, these early tours allow them to explore a variety of programs and envision their future career possibilities. This experience encourages students to focus on strengthening academic skills, maintaining excellent attendance, and developing interview techniques—all important for the NT application process in high school.
Path to Success at NT
Pryor students can interview for admission to NT programs during their sophomore year. Accepted students typically complete a certification course over their junior and senior years. Programs are designed to fit into a student’s high school schedule, with half-day options available in the morning or afternoon.
Bus transportation is offered to and from the home campus, and students also have the option to drive themselves. The program is free for students who attend a high school located within the five-country Northeast Tech District, making it an excellent opportunity for those interested in jumpstarting their careers.
