Pryor Middle School Students Celebrate Native American Culture with Special Events b
Pryor Middle School students immersed themselves in Native American culture during a special celebration on November 8. This event marked both a tribute to Native heritage and the conclusion of the first trimester. Students participated in a variety of cultural activities, both indoors and outdoors.
Throughout the morning, students engaged in hands-on experiences highlighting traditional Native American practices. Under the guidance of their teachers, they crafted beaded jewelry, cooked fry bread, and learned the art of basket weaving. Other activities included creating cornhusk dolls, molding clay pinch pots, playing marbles, and enjoying a stickball game.
The celebration offered more than just fun; it allowed students to connect, learn, and appreciate the rich cultural traditions that are part of their community’s heritage. Through these shared activities, the students built new skills and deepened their understanding of Native American culture and history.
