student looking at poster

The Business Professionals Association (BPA) club at Pryor High School held a mock election today, organized under the guidance of sponsor Mrs. Roberson. Through this activity, participating students gained firsthand experience with the electoral process.

Students gathered in the south commons to cast their votes, where student poll workers verified voter rolls and distributed ballots to classmates. Each student voter then entered a polling booth to make their selection, using mock ballots designed to resemble those used in the 2024 presidential election. After casting their votes, ballots were tallied, and Mrs. Roberson periodically posted updates on the election results.

Once all ballots were counted, the final results were as follows:

Total Voters: 402

President:

  • - Kamala Harris / Tim Walz: 77

  • - Donald Trump / JD Vance: 287

  • - Christopher Garrity / Nicole Shanahan: 8

  • - Chase Oliver / Mike ter Maat: 4

U.S. House of Representatives, Oklahoma District 2:

  • - Josh Brecheen: 237

  • - Bradon Wade: 76

  • - Ronnie Hopkins: 54

Thank you to everyone who participated in this hands-on civics lesson!
