students in line to eat

The mouth-watering aroma of roasting pork greeted our students yesterday as they crossed the Pryor High front lawn. The warm weather made created a perfect setting for the fall feast, with campus trees in autumn color providing the finishing touch.

Our food service provider Taher and Mrs. Clark's culinary students worked two days preparing the menu which included a whole roasted hog and savory sides. Tiger culinary students also worked alongside the cafeteria staff, helping to serve up trays of roast pork or chicken, smoky charro beans, mac & cheese, cornbread, and a delicious dessert for their classmates, staff members, and Pryor first responders. The meal was a special treat for the middle school Tigers who were on campus to rehearse for their musical performance.

Dr. Lisa Muller, Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent John Potter donned chef jackets and joined in, carving the roast for students. Pryor School Board Member Nettie Anderson also stopped by to enjoy the meal.

One student was overheard saying, “School lunches should be like this every day!”
