Veteran with bracelet

Pryor High School's Leadership class partnered with English Composition students for a letter-writing activity in August. The letters were addressed to U.S. Veterans who this September boarded an Oklahoma Honor Flight bound for the nation's capitol. The Honor Flight program provides Veterans with an unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C., where they tour the nation's memorials in honor of their service.

As part of their Honor Flight experience, each Veteran received "Mail Call" on their flight to D.C., with letters from Pryor High School students expressing appreciation and prayers for those who had bravely served our great country. In addition to the letters, Leadership students also created red, white, and blue beaded bracelets, offering a thoughtful, handmade token of appreciation.

One memorable image from the event captures a Veteran who never parted with his bracelet and received his mail with a smile. Kind words and handmade gifts may seem simple, but they hold the power to deeply touch lives, bringing joy to Veterans as they embark on their journey to the nation's capital.

Thank you to all the students who participated in this meaningful project and helped show our Veterans the appreciation they so richly deserve!
