This week, Cathy Webster and Victoria Middleton visited Pryor High School students to introduce them to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program. During their visit, students learned about this exciting leadership opportunity and were invited to apply for the chance to attend a RYLA student leadership event.
Selected students will participate in a four-day experience, leaving on a Thursday and returning on a Sunday. Webster emphasized the importance of attending all four days, explaining that each activity builds upon the previous one, leading to meaningful self-discovery.
"It's like a prep for the next activity, and it's the process of bringing in what the students don't know about themselves," Webster shared. "Yes, it involves getting outside of your comfort zone a bit, but that's how self-discovery happens—and it's all done in a safe environment."
The RYLA program is designed to expand students' leadership skills, aligning with Pryor Schools' commitment to fostering leadership development among its students.
