Last week, Pryor High School band members had the opportunity to engage with leadership speaker Scott Lang. Lang, known for his dynamic approach to student leadership and group dynamics emphasized the importance of acting quickly on the fundamental skills, creating time to learn new skills.
"Thanks to the support of a PAEF grant, we were able to secure him (Lang) to work with our students," PHS Band Director Kevin Speakman said.
During the workshop, Lang highlighted that by acting quickly and efficiently on daily procedural tasks, students could free up time to focus on the more complex and challenging drills essential to band musicianship.
This session was part of the ongoing efforts to build leadership and teamwork within the Pryor High Band, equipping students with the tools they need for success both on and off the field.
