Lori Martin, a beloved math teacher at Pryor High School and the 2024 Pryor District Teacher of the Year, kicked off the new school year in style—behind the wheel of a Ford Bronco. The vehicle, gifted to her by Matthews Ford of Pryor, will be hers to drive during her tenure as Teacher of the Year. Jonathan, Bryson, Jake, and Adrian from Matthews Ford were there to present the car to Martin, who was brimming with excitement as she accepted the keys.
Pryor businesses supported Martin by presenting her with gifts that overflowed the table on stage, celebrating her commitment to education. The car that Matthews Ford provided was a standout gift that just wouldn’t quite fit on the table.
Thank you to the Pryor business community for your continued support for the faculty and staff at Pryor Public Schools!
Martin’s impact extends far beyond her impressive new ride. At the annual back-to-school all-district meeting held at the AVRA Center, she delivered an inspiring speech to her fellow educators. She urged them to remember the life-changing events that happened during their own school years when they were on the other side of the desk as students. Her words served as a powerful reminder of the lasting influence teachers have on their students’ lives.
In addition to her role as a math teacher, Martin aka "Coach Lo," is a passionate basketball coach who brings the same energy to the court as she does to her classroom. She teaches both high school and concurrent classes, helping students prepare for college. Martin’s excellence in education has been recognized beyond the district as well; she was a finalist for the Professional Educators of Oklahoma Excellence in Education Merit and Character Award.
With the start of the school year, Martin's words and the community's support have set a positive tone, ensuring that she—and her colleagues—are ready to make a lasting impact on their students
