Roosevelt Elementary has achieved a significant milestone by being recognized as a Leader in Me Legacy School by Franklin Covey. This the highest honor for Leader in Me schools, highlights Roosevelt's commitment to fostering a strong leadership culture among students, staff, and families. This recognition is the pinnacle of the District’s broader achievement of being the first district in the world where all school sites have recertified as Lighthouse Schools.
Roosevelt Elementary Principal Brian Bradshaw stated, "We are truly honored to join the outstanding family of Legacy Schools throughout the world! With the support of FranklinCovey Education, our amazing staff and students have worked incredibly hard to make this Legacy recognition a reality. With the principles taught in Leader in Me, such as believing in the leadership potential in all students and communicating to them their worth and value daily, the staff has created something truly special here at Roosevelt."
Pryor Superintendent Dr. Lisa Muller explained, "The Leader In Me 7 Habits framework is a signature practice that benefits the school and district in many ways. Students develop leadership skills in addition to succeeding academically and fostering a positive school and community culture. Our thanks also goes to FranklinCovey for being our partner and for supporting our school district's Leader In Me journey," said Pryor Superintendent Dr. Lisa Muller.
"We honor the principal, staff, students, parents, caregivers, families, and administrators who have all played a role in the school's phenomenal success. The credit and recognition go to the entire school community and to everyone who has been involved in any way,” remarked Sean Covey, FranklinCovey Education President.
To provide an inspiring start for the new school year Pryor faculty and staff will celebrate with distinguished speaker Muriel Summers, Franklin Covey's global ambassador and retired principal of the original Leader in Me school, A.B. Combs Elementary. Summers, who with her staff developed a revolutionary leadership model based on FranklinCovey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®” will serve as the keynote speaker at the District's welcome back staff event, which is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on August 8 at the Pryor High School Performing Arts Center.
