What a week! Oklahoma FCCLA showed up and left a mark in Seattle, with over 300 Oklahoma FCCLA competitors attending. Pryor members Isabella Orcutt and Ainsli McFarland traveled with instructor Jeanine Clark to Seattle to participate in the conference.
It was an incredible experience for the group. For McFarland, it was her first time flying, and the group enjoyed a tram ride to the Space Needle, visited the original Starbucks, threw fish at Pike's Market, explored the Chihuly Museum, rode the Ferris wheel on the harbor, and walked 15,000 steps daily.
Clark remarked on the amazing job Orcutt did in the fashion show interview, and while the outcome wasn’t what Orcutt wanted, she handled it with grace. Her positive attitude was inspiring, cheering on and visiting with the other candidates. Clark also noted that McFarland's submission for the Power of One National Program received recognition at the conference.
"As adults, there’s much we can learn from our youth," Clark said.
McFarland and Orcutt attended many workshops and RED talks and judged National STAR Events with dedication and skill. "So many state advisors told me they were so proud of them stepping up and out to judge so earnestly. I could not be prouder," said instructor Jeanine Clark.
"Thank you to the Pryor Administration and School Board for giving so many students the opportunity to travel and experience national events," Clark concluded.
