Pryor Middle School's 8th-grade students recently boarded a plane for an educational journey to Washington D.C., our nation's capital. This trip provides a unique, hands-on history lesson about the founding and development of the United States.
A moving trip highlight for four PMS students was participating in the Laying of the Wreath Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The wreath, emblazoned with a blue ribbon bearing the words "Pryor Middle School," was used by the Honor Guard for the ceremony. The middle school students demonstrated the utmost respect for the occasion, recognizing the significance of the ceremony.
The four students earned their places by writing compelling essays, which were judged by officials from Thunderbird Youth Academy in Pryor. Their essays demonstrated their understanding and appreciation of the significance of the ceremony.
To qualify for the trip, 8th graders must maintain good grades, attend preparatory meetings with their parents, and complete volunteer hours. This commitment to their education and community service makes the trip even more meaningful
