When school started last August, Pryor Superintendent Dr. Lisa Muller told an excited crowd of Pryor High School students “you’ll start seeing dirt moving over across the street sometime this school year for the beginning of the football field construction.”  Today, March 6, 2024, Muller along with the Pryor School Board and other administrators fulfilled that statement by turning the first shovels of dirt for the new field.

Students who had gathered to watch the ceremony also stepped up to take a shovel and lend a hand in celebrating the beginning of a new home field for Tiger athletes. The new stadium will be built right across the street from the high school, providing easy access for faculty and students. Fall of 25 is the target season to kick off the first game at the new stadium.

The new stadium also adds important space for Pryor residents. “It’s a gathering place. It’s a place where community can come together and be proud of what we have and unite,” said Pryor High School Principal Fielding Elseman.

The stadium project is part of a 2009 District plan. Visit the Bond Update Page for more information.
